For a perfect themed event of red, white and blue, here are three beverage ideas to whip up for your 4th of July party this weekend! We serve these three drinks pretty much every July 4th because everyone loves them! We have chosen one alcoholic option which is the BLUE Hawaiian. Our RED option is a Sweet Iced Raspberry Tea but you could also do a raspberry lemonade … yum and our WHITE option is not technically white but it is a refreshing & hydrating Spa Water aka flavored water.
Cheers!
Blue Hawaiian
This is a perfect refreshing, tropical, summer drink that feels light and is incredibly delicious. All your guests will enjoy the taste of summer!!! (Even the boys).
You will need:
- Malibu Rum
- blue Curacao
- pineapple juice
- pineapple
- Ice
- blue food coloring
How To:
- Fill pitcher with ice about a third of the way.
- Pour in entire bottle of Pineapple Juice.
- Pour in ¾ of the bottle of Malibu Rum.
- Add ¼ of the bottle of Blue Curacao.
- Add in a few drops of blue food coloring to intensify the blue of your beverage.
- Stir the contents well until all ingredients are mixed.
- Slice a few pieces of pineapple to garnish your beverage.
- Serve icy cold and enjoy!
Tip: You may notice that the contents of your pitcher looks a little green rather than blue. If this is the case then keep adding a few drops of the blue food coloring until you’ve reached your desired shade!
Sweet Iced Raspberry Tea
Sweet Iced Tea is a great alternative beverage to offer your guests who don’t enjoy alcohol or if they are the designated driver for the day of festivities. It is refreshing and full of flavor…
You will need:
- raspberry tea bags
- Ice
- red food coloring
- raspberries
- sweetener (I use Xyla)
How To:
- Fill a large saucepan to about ¾ with water place on stove and bring to boil.
- Once boiled turn off the stove and add your raspberry tea. Now your water to tea ratio may vary depending on the amount you wish to make but because we are catering for about 20 guests we have added 12 teabags to our boiled water.
- Place lid back on saucepan and leave the tea to ferment for about 20mins – ½ hour.
- Remove teabags from saucepan and allow the contents to cool to room temperature before adding to your pitcher.
- Fill the pitcher 1/3 of the way with ice.
- Add your tea mixture to the pitcher.
- To sweeten add 5 Tbsp. of artificial sweetener and stir in well.
- Add a few drops of Red food coloring to intensify the color of your drink. Keep adding until you have reached your desired shade of red.
- Add 1 cup of raspberries to your tea to garnish and for extra flavor.
- Serve icy cold and enjoy!
Tip: Keep a box of sweetener next to your pitcher of tea for guests to add if needed. Remember some of us have a sweeter tooth than others … me for example!
Spa Water
Spa Water is super refreshing and a great alternative to plain water to encourage your guests to stay hydrated during your July 4 festivities. Most of are spending a full day in the sun and a lot of you will be spending the day with a few celebratory beverages so hydration is key to a successful day after!
You will need:
- filtered water
- Ice
Traditional spa water
- 1 large cucumber
- 1 large lemon
- 2 limes
- 1 orange
July 4 Spa Water
- blueberries
- watermelon
- raspberries
- strawberries
- pineapple
- mint
How To:
- Slice your fruits into thin wheels about ½ cm thick.
- Fill your pitcher half way with ice.
- Add your sliced fruit to pitcher.
- Add filtered water.
- Serve icy cold and enjoy!
Tip: If you don’t enjoy the mixture of flavors in your water you can choose to make just and Orange flavored water … or maybe a lemon & lime? Pretty much whatever flavor you want you can have, just add the fruit flavor you desire!
Happy 4th of July!
XOXO,
Paige
