Do you ever reach into your drawer to grab your favorite necklace, only to find that it’s entangled with 5 other necklaces that you own? Or that super cute ring that your grandma gave you but can’t find? Or those earrings that your boyfriend gave you and he keeps asking “why don’t you wear those?” when the real answer is…”Ummmm, I put them in a really safe place so that I wouldn’t lose them!” and you simply can’t remember where that safe place is? Sound familiar? Then you need one of these! A jewelry organizer!
Stop wasting time looking for your family jewels! I have a solution…a sassy, stylish, space-saving jewelry organizer. Trust me…it will save you time and frustration while you eliminate the hours untangling that necklace you just have to wear for your Christmas party.
These can cost hundreds of dollars! I’ve got a solution that costs about $20.
You Will Need:
- Wooden box (1 large or a few small boxes to make one large box) I am using four smaller boxes that are used as drawer dividers that are 10”x10”
- A decorative mirror
- Wing nuts with screws to attach the boxes together (8 sets)
- Decorative drawer pulls/knobs (I used crystal knobs) (4)
- Colorful paper to line the back of the boxes
- Several small wooden dowels ¼” diameter
- Any other decorations you would like – I am using office supply binder clips, small hangers, a key holder hanger and mini-clothes pins
- Drill
- Drill bit
- Wood glue
- Hot glue gun
- Glue sticks
How To:
- On a flat surface, line up the boxes in the design you would like.
- Mark on each box where you would like to attach them.
- Drill holes in the attachment spots on each box. You will need to use a drill bit slightly bigger than your screw/wing-nut combo.
- Add glue to the side of your boxes.
- Attach boxes using the screw/wing-nut combo and tighten by hand.
- Complete this process until all sides of the boxes are attached.
- If you have paper that you would like to add to the background of the boxes, do this now. You can use spray glue or stick glue.
- Add your décor and dowels where you would like them to be placed within your box design. I attached these with a hot glue gun.
Add your jewels and say goodbye to tangles!!! (And those “safe” places that you can never find!)
