Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and whether you are staying in with your sweetie, hanging with your friends and family, or just having a girl’s night, we’ve got the backdrop for your fun and festive pictures!
In the past, Valentine’s Day has brought a lot of emotions. Depending what situation you find yourself in around mid-February, Valentine’s Day can be very romantic, very fun, very crazy or very lonely! But I want to change all that…I really want to focus on Valentine’s Day being about sharing the love with whoever you want! I want to focus on staying in for the night on Valentine’s Day, and spending it with the people that you love…Like your best friend, your kids, your pets…and for me this year I’ll be spending it with my new hubby…but not JUST with my hubby. The truth of the matter is, Jase and I WON’T be spending it alone. We will be with Scotty and Meeks at the house, and with the gas leak also relocating my mom and grandma to a local hotel, they will probably be coming over for a movie night as well. We’ll have all 5 pets here too and I’m hoping that my bestie, Trevi, stops by with her kids, Jake and Gianna…so with 9 people and 5 pets, I want to create a backdrop that allows a fun night of Kodak moments! So…this Valentine’s Day, I encourage you to break the typical rules and spend it with whomever you choose to spend it with. This Valentine’s Day…CELEBRATE LOVE!!!
- 4 x 8 Sheet of Plywood
- 2 Wooden planters
- Sand Bags
- Screws
- Screw gun (aka drill)
- 40×40 Boxwood Panels (4)
- Hot glue
- Staple gun
- Valentine’s Day décor (I chose lots of red, pink and blush colored flowers, a felt heart, a sign that spells out “love”, and a big “&” symbol)
- Poster board or card stock (I used poster board since it’s larger and allows for bigger letters to be cut out)
- Scissors
- Floral wire (or small gauge picture-hanging wire)
- Wire cutters
How To:
- Nail wooden planters to the bottom of the 4×8 sheet of plywood so plywood stands upright
- Stick sandbags or anything heavy into the planters to keep the plywood from falling over
- Hot glue and/or staple the 40×40 boxwood panels to the plywood until completely covered
- Add any symbols, flowers, décor to your board using floral wire
- Take your poster board and write any shape that you would like to cover in flowers.
- Cut out shape
- Cover board in flowers using hot glue (the rest will be done in segment
- Decorate with any other accessories and snap away with your friends and fam!
