How To:

1. Take your six boards of wood and lay them together evenly on a flat surface

2. Cut your 1×4’s into 2 separate 36” boards (or have the hardware store cut it for you).

3. Take your 1×4’s and lay them across all six boards. This will serve as the two braces for your clock boards.

4. Attach each 1×4 with 2 drywall screw in each board and add wood glue.

5. Turn over and measure out and mark the very center of your boards.

6. Take a piece of string or yarn just larger than 22” and tie one end around a pencil and one end around a nail so that it measures 44’ long

7. Draw a perfect circle with your pencil attached to the nail.

8. Take your wallpaper and attach it to the boards with mod podge (put a layer of Mod Podge on the boards first, then place wallpaper. You can do this all with one kind of wallpaper, or make each individual board a different kind of wallpaper. ) I will be making each board a different color/design. HINT: Since wallpaper is so expensive, you can save money and achieve this look with craft paper.

9. Let dry.

10. Take your jigsaw and cut out the boards so that you have a circle.

11. Take your sandpaper and sand parts of the wallpaper back. To achieve a distressed look, do this unequally so that it looks like it has aged over the years.

12. Attach the clock mechanism to the middle of the board, where you had your nail, according to the manufacturer’s directions

13. Glue on roman numerals to clock face

14. Attach one side of the French cleat to the higher bracing board on the back side of the clock face.

15. Attach the other side of the French cleat to the wall, according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
