Words of inspiration are motivating and can set the tone for your whole day. Why not inspire the guests that come into your home and leave a lasting impression of positivity and motivation? Well, I am going to show you how you can… before they even set foot through the door of your house. Let’s just say… it’s good for the SOLE!
Do you want to add a little pizzazz to your front porch? DIY inspirational welcome mats are a great and easy solution to making your front porch pop! Plus, since you are doing the customizing, it can fit any décor… or even change with the seasons! It’s easy, simple and quick but can make a lasting impression on your guests.
Now I believe that every home should have a door mat. Having guests (and your own family) wipe their feet before they come in the door helps keep your home clean. Especially if you have kids or pets, you want to make sure that your floors are as clean as possible, right? Plus adding a personal touch with my DIY makes your house look warm and inviting, and expensive.
I believe that how you feel when you walk up to someone’s house will help set the tone for what they will experience inside your home. That’s why I love “curb appeal” and why I think it’s so important! What impression do you want to leave on your guests? I want my own guests to have a smile on their face when I welcome them in and keep them smiling for the rest of the day!
You Will Need:
- Door mat
- Black paint (can use artist acrylic paint)
- Painters tape
- Paintbrush/sponge
- Stencil (OPTION: If you want to customize even more, you can use your printer and some contact paper. You would also need a utility knife and small pins.)
- Weather proofing spray
How To:
- Choose your inspirational mantra or welcome message.
- Arrange stencil letters on your mat into your words of inspiration and tape to keep in place.
- Using a sponge dab a generous amount of black paint inside the stencil to get full coverage.
- Remove stencil to reveal your inspirational design.
- Set aside and allow to dry.
- Spray mat with a weather proofing spray to protect your welcome mat from the elements.
- Lay at your front door and inspire everyone that comes into your home!
