Inflatable props and Halloween decorations are all the rage right now and you can pick them up at your local hardware stores, Halloween specialty stores and online. But, sometimes these AMAZING decorations can really break the bank so the prop team and I came up with a spooky inflatable swamp monster that you can DIY for less than half the cost of others out there! Yep, that’s right, saving you casheesh and helping you create neighbour envy!
Here is what you need to get started …
- Sheets of plastic (clear or black)
- Hot soldering iron
- Wax paper
- Sharpie
- Spray paint
How-To:
1. Double fold plastic
2. Draw design. Keep shapes simple, large, cylindrical – helps keep shape and stand up if desired (tentacles, suckers, etc.)
3. Place wax paper on top of plastic sheets with design.
4. Trace design on wax paper with soldering iron (creates pocket for air)
5. Trim excess plastic
6. Spray paint object
7. Tape to floor fan
8. Turn on and Inflate!
