Tips for Spring Cleaning your Kitchen

Paige

It’s that time of year, and I know the best short cuts to making sure every corner of your kitchen looks perfect. I am giving you “the dirt” on great tips to make sure your spring cleaning is easier than ever. Some of these tips come from kitchenhome.co.uk, and some, I’ve myself formulated.

Having personally flipped 42 homes I have come up with simple ways to make your cleaning and organisation affordable, fast and easy. With yesterday being the first day of Spring you really want to give your home a deep cleaning. one of the the areas that I find always needs a lot of TLC is the kitchen. People can check renewkitchenandbathremodeling.com this link if they need kitchen renovations.  It’s where everyone gathers and the dirt seems to linger. I like to start with my appliances here, in particularl my fridge. The inside of the refrigerator is so often ignored, so you want to give it a real good cleaning. Take stock of what random food items are hiding way, way back in the depths of fridge and clean up those old stains and spills you’ve gotten so used to looking at every time you open the refrigerator door. You know the ones I’m talking about, the ketchup bottle ring on the glass shelf or the mustard on the side door.

Now when it comes to cleaning my fridge I love using the Mr Clean Magic Eraser and trust me I have tried and tested a lot of jazz and put these babies to the test!! The Magic Eraser eliminates the need for so many other products, because it works on glass, grout, tiles, walls, door handles … let’s be real, just about every surface. So when you start your spring clean do yourself a favor and go out and get yo’self some!

I also believe that prevention is better than a cure a lot of the time so I strongly suggest that everyone cleans out their fridge every week. Whaaaaaat? Here is my crazy thought process, if you do this once a week you have an inventory in your mind of what you have so you don’t buy multiples (which is extra cash in the pocket). You also know what you need to toss out well ahead of the expiration date. Remember the old saying, “When in doubt, throw it out!” It also allows those stains to become less heavy duty and easily removable on a regular basis.

After you’ve given the shelves a good wipe down, here’s another tip for you. Put all beverages and condiments on a lazy susan to make more room in the fridge and for easier access. I know, and you are welcome!

Of course the kitchen cupboards and pantry go with out saying … clean out, throw out and re-orgaize.

The stove top can always get a little extra lovin’ but one of the important but often forgotten places to clean in your home when embarking on the good old fashioned spring clean are the walls. When I move my furniture or have people over, they always manage to scuff up at least one wall or baseboard, this takes those marks out right away. No need to re-paint. For me personally, another reason I love using the Magic Eraser instead of spray products is that you can control the use and not worry about having “over spray”.

With just one simple product and some simple tricks and tips you can make your kitchen sparkle and shine too!
